Every term the product's reports and guides lean on, defined once. Guides link here the first time they use a term.

AI Overview — Google's AI-written answer box above the results. Being cited in it is the new "position zero".

AI Mode — Google's conversational search surface; answers cite sources like AI Overview does.

Backlink — a link from another site to yours; a vote of authority in ranking systems.

Blueprint — the product's name for the full strategy output a finished run produces for a site.

Cannibalization — two of your pages competing for one keyword, so neither ranks as well as one would.

Citation (AI) — your site named as a source inside an AI answer.

Citation (content) — an outbound link from your article to an authoritative source.

Crawl — fetching a site's pages to read them; what an audit does first.

Credit — the usage unit plans meter; audits and article generation consume them.

Difficulty — 0-100 estimate of how hard a keyword is to rank for, derived from what currently ranks.

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) — earning presence in AI answers, the way SEO earns presence in classic results.

Grade — the A+ to F letter summarizing an audit's category scores.

Indexability — whether a search engine is allowed and able to include a page in its index.

Intent (I/C/T/N) — what a searcher wants: Informational, Commercial, Transactional, or Navigational.

Meta description — the page summary tag search engines may show under your title in results.

NAP — Name, Address, Phone; consistency between your site and your business profile matters for local rankings.

Position — where a page ranks in results; 1-10 is page one.

Rich results — search listings with extras (stars, FAQs, prices), earned via schema markup.

Schema markup / JSON-LD — machine-readable structured data on your pages describing what they contain.

SERP — the search engine results page.

Skyscraper — score-gated article generation: research the ranking pages, then draft and revise until the piece measures better.

Volume — average monthly searches for a keyword in a market.

Workspace — your account's container for team members and projects; billing is per workspace.
