The Ghost connection publishes generated articles straight into your Ghost site through Ghost's Admin API. Articles arrive with their content, images, and metadata, ready to review in Ghost's editor.
New connections publish as drafts by default, so nothing goes live on your site until someone presses publish in Ghost. Flip that per connection once you trust the pipeline.
What to know before you start
Connect it once per Ghost site, before the first calendar batch for that project. Publishing through the connection is what lets publish verification → confirm your posts are actually reachable.
Connect Ghost
To connect Ghost:
- In Ghost Admin, go to
Settings→Integrationsand add a custom integration. - Copy the
Admin API keyand theAPI URL. - In your project's
Integrationstab, choose Ghost and paste both. - Send a test publish and check that the post appears in Ghost as a draft.
What happens after you publish
Published articles appear in the project's content views with their publish state and — once live — their public URL. The verifier fetches that URL and records what came back. A write that Ghost accepted but that never became a reachable page shows as not live, not as success.
Limits and usage
- The Admin API key is the credential — treat it like a password. Rotating the key in Ghost breaks the connection until you paste the new one.
- The connection targets one Ghost site. A second site is a second connection.
- Ghost themes control the final rendering — the connection delivers content, not theme fixes.
If something isn't working
Authentication fails immediately. The Admin API key must be the full id:secret pair from a custom integration. The Content API key (shorter, no colon) won't work, and neither will a staff access token.
The connection works but posts 404. The Ghost site is behind a proxy, or the API URL doesn't match — it must be the admin domain exactly as Ghost's integration screen shows it.
Images didn't come through. Very large images can exceed Ghost's upload limits. The article still publishes and the image slot is noted — re-add oversized images in Ghost.
