The Wix connection publishes generated articles into a Wix site's blog. Wix's editor stores content in its own rich-content format rather than HTML, so the connection converts each article — headings, lists, links, images — into that native format before publishing. Posts open cleanly in the Wix editor as if written there.
Like every connection, it publishes drafts by default until you switch it live.
What to know before you start
Connect it when the client's site runs on Wix. Wix sites are common among small local businesses, which makes this the connection that pairs most often with the Local SEO tab →.
Connect Wix
To connect Wix:
- Open your site's dashboard and copy the whole address from the browser bar. The site ID is the part after
/dashboard/; pasting the whole address works. - Open
API Keysin your Wix account and clickGenerate API Key. Name itSearchBlueprint. - Tick
Wix Blog,Wix Contacts & MembersandManage Site Media, then clickGenerate Key. - Click
Send Code, enter the 6-digit code Wix emails you, and clickVerify & Generate Key. - Click
Copy Token & Close. Wix shows the key once. - In your project's
Publishingtab, choose Wix, paste the site address and the API key, and send a test draft. - Open the post in Wix's blog manager to confirm the formatting arrived intact.
Without Manage Site Media, articles publish without their pictures.
What happens after you publish
Posts land in the Wix blog with their structure preserved through the format conversion. Once live, the verifier checks the public URL like any other platform.
Limits and usage
- The API key is account-level in Wix — the site ID is what scopes the connection to one site. Double-check the site ID on multi-site accounts.
- The conversion covers standard article structure. Exotic embeds are simplified rather than guessed at — check the first few posts and adjust in the editor where needed.
- Wix must have the blog app added to the site. A site without the blog app has nowhere to receive posts.
If something isn't working
Publishing fails with a permissions error. The API key lacks blog scopes, or the account role that created it can't manage that site. Recreate the key with blog permissions from an admin account.
Formatting looks flattened. A structure the converter simplifies — usually deeply nested lists or embeds. Edit the post in Wix; the text content is all there.
Posts go to the wrong site. Multi-site account, wrong site ID — update it in the connection.
