Change SEO titles and descriptions in Duda

Where Duda keeps a page's meta title, meta description, H1, URL, image alt text and No Index switch, for pages, dynamic pages and blog posts.

Open in the appUpdated 2026-10-19

Duda keeps each page's meta title and meta description in the page's SEO settings. There's also a site-wide title and description, but Duda recommends setting them page by page. Here's where each change from your On-Page Mapping goes.

Every change below goes live when you republish your site.

Change a page's meta title and description

To change a page in the editor:

  1. In the side panel, click Pages.
  2. Click the three-dot icon next to the page.
  3. Click Edit Page SEO.
  4. Paste the new meta title into Page meta title.
  5. Paste the new description into Page meta description.
  6. Republish your site.

To edit many pages at once, open the site's Project Dashboard, expand SEO/AEO and select Page SEO. It lists every page's meta title, meta description and No Index setting in one table.

Change a dynamic page or blog post

On a dynamic page, the title and description can pull from your Content Library. Click Pages, then the settings icon on the dynamic page, then Edit Page SEO, and use the Connect Data icon next to each field.

To change a blog post, click Blog in the side panel, then Manage Posts. Click the edit icon next to the post, then the Post Settings icon. Under the post's SEO settings, change Post meta-title and Post Description. Duda puts the ideal meta title at about 65 to 67 characters. A blank one falls back to the post title.

Change the H1

The H1 is a text widget on the page. Click the text, open Text type in the text toolbar, and choose Heading 1 (H1). Duda's guidance is one H1 per page, with no skipped heading levels.

Change the URL

Click Pages, then the three-dot icon next to the page, and use Page URL. Renaming a page doesn't change its URL. URL changes go live only when you publish the whole site.

Duda's help doesn't mention an automatic redirect, so add one yourself:

  1. In the side panel, click More, then Settings.
  2. Click URL Redirect, then Add New Redirect.
  3. Enter the old path as the Source URL and the new page as the destination, with the 301 type.
  4. Click Add, then Publish URL Rules.

A redirect does nothing while a page still exists at the old address.

Add image alt text

Right-click the image widget, select Edit Content, and fill in Alt text. To fill in every image at once, go to SEO/AEO > Image Alt Text in the site's dashboard. Alt text is limited to 80 characters.

Open the page's Edit Page SEO screen and click the No Index toggle, then republish. Duda adds a noindex robots tag to the page. A page Google already indexed can take several weeks to drop out. Blog posts have their own no-index toggle in Post Settings.

Check it worked

After you republish, run the live page through the free Meta tag checker. It shows the title, description, H1 and robots tag the page serves now. Duda's Site Audit also lists SEO issues it still finds. When the change is live, tick Mark done on the page's row in On-Page Mapping.

Limits and usage

  • Draft pages are set to No Index until you change it.
  • Duda Vibe, Duda's AI builder, uses different menus and has no Image Alt Text screen.
