Generated articles can carry images from three sources. The writer suggests where images belong; the image step fills those slots from the sources you allow.
- Stock search: free-to-use images from Pexels, Pixabay, and Wikimedia, matched to the article's topic.
- Your site: images the audit crawl found on your own pages, so product and location shots stay yours.
- AI generation: images created for the article when nothing suitable exists.
Choose a source
Stock suits informational posts. Your own crawled images suit money pages, where a generic stock photo undercuts trust. AI generation fills the gap for concepts with no good stock match — comparisons, illustrations, anything specific to your niche.
Set the image option
To add images to a generated article:
- In
Generate, set the image option for the run. You can also set it once in the website's generation settings, so every calendar article follows it. - Generate as usual. Images arrive placed in the draft with alt text.
- Swap any image before publishing — the slot, not the specific picture, is the writer's suggestion.
What ships with each image
Each placed image carries alt text. Stock images also carry attribution metadata where the source requires it. Images travel with the article when you publish through an integration →.
Limits and usage
- Stock search is free. AI generation consumes image credits per image.
- Note that Wikimedia images can carry license terms that require attribution. The attribution ships with the image data — keep it when you edit.
- Very new sites with few crawled pages give the "your site" source little to work with. It improves as audits crawl more pages.
If something isn't working
Images didn't appear. The run's image option was off, or every source came back empty for the topic. Rerun the image step with a broader setting, or add images by hand in your CMS after publishing.
A stock image is wrong for the slot. Replace it before publishing. The picker matched the topic keywords, and niche topics sometimes match literally rather than usefully.
AI generation returned nothing. Image generation depends on a configured provider — if your workspace has none enabled, stock and site sources still work. When generation fails, the slot is left empty rather than blocking the article.
