The Page Editor takes the URL of a live page and proposes a redesign you can edit. It screenshots the page, reads its content and brand — colours, type, logo — then builds a block-based mockup (hero, proof, features, FAQ) with SEO copy written for the page's target keyword. The result is editable like a document, not a picture: change any text inline, reorder blocks, or tell the AI what to change.
The output is a proposal for a human to act on. Nothing is published to your site — the deliverable is the mockup, a before/after comparison, and a developer brief that says what to build.
When to use it
Use it when a page's problem is the page itself — layout, message, missing proof — rather than its copy alone. To rewrite the words on a page you're keeping, use the Content Refresher →. For a brand-new page from a keyword, generate an article from the Content Calendar →.
Redesign a page
To redesign a page:
- Open
Page Editorin the project rail's Write section, or go to the editor and pick the project. - Paste the page URL and select
Analyse the page. Analysis is free — it walks through screenshots, reading the page, brand, and targeting. - Review the plan — page type and goals are yours to adjust — then generate the design. This is the paid step.
- Edit the result: click any text to change it, use the AI panel to ask for revisions in plain words, and undo anything it does.
- Share it: mint the share link to send the proposal — mockup, before/after screenshots, developer brief, and downloads — or export the HTML and spec directly.
The developer brief is also saved to Content History, so the handoff survives the browser tab.
Limits and usage
- Generating the design costs 3 credits; each AI revision costs 1. A failed generation or revision doesn't use credits — the error says so explicitly.
- The share link is revocable: revoking it kills the URL you sent.
- The editor needs a public, readable page — see below for what it refuses.
If something isn't working
"That site refused our request." The page sits behind a bot wall or a login. Try another URL on the same site, or paste the page's HTML into the Content Refresher instead.
The URL is rejected at analyse. PDFs, 404s, and pages with no readable HTML are refused before any credits are involved.
The AI's revision could not be read. No credits were used. Reword the instruction and try again — short, single-change instructions work best.
